I hate when I see the same ol’ ads coming through twitter every few minutes.  Even if the link is different, if it is the twitter person, I am not amused.

So, for  you, all my dear sweet friends, I’m asking you to take the following polls….yea all of them please…or just one….doesn’t matter…

Ok, demographics – please?

Here’s what happens….Graduation - *cross posted*

Friday, April 24th, 2009

I mean, bam, you turn your back and all of the sudden, you have a kid graduating from Kindergarten……and then, you have to get really hacked because someone broke the scanner.  But, then someone fixed it, then someone lost the cords, and then someone brought home graduation pictures and geeez Louise how am I going to show these pictures…ahaha, I’ll take a picture of the picture – damn I’m smart….

oh brother

Taking a picture is not easy…

1 not like this

Ok, let me try again…

2 not to post of W graduation

Ok, look, this is not as easy as it sounds…

but I being the pestering kind, I managed…look how cute he is..

best w graduation

He looks huge doesn’t he?  And, with all those bright lights…well yea, he looks really big.  He is big for his age but he doesn’t necessarily have shoulders like a full blown linebacker just yet.

May 26th, we walk the walk – and we will officially be a First Grader – Oh My, I am super scared!

I’m not sure about children, but…

The most important part of being a good parent, is being good to yourself.  I just read a tweet from someone that said something to the effect of “I’m not just a blogger, I’m a person” and oh how quickly as parents, we forget that we are people too.  And, so we need to make sure that we pamper ourselves every now and again so we make good parents.

One way to do this is to take in some special promotions we’re running right now http://www.affinia.com/Chicago-Specials.aspx.  We have a really neat BBQ Bootcamp event with two celebrity Chefs, Marcus Samuelsson of C-House Restaurant & David Burke of David Burke’s Primehouse in The James Hotel in May.

If you are wondering where I got wind of this, I will be staying at the Affinia Hotel in Chicago when I got Blogher in July and I’m so excited.  I’ve never been to Chicago and just look at these photos…would a short stay at a wonderful location as this make it easier when you clean up that red juice up off the white carpet for the 100th time this week alone?

An Update of Sorts – No Electricity!

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Unfortunately I am in the belt of folks in Alabama who have been without electricity since Sunday.  I am at a local McD’s right now letting my kids play and using the wi-fi.

I am about to get as many winners as I can get so I can announce them and get you the prizes in the mail when I receive shipping addresses.  I can always be reached at jareason at gmail dot com if you want to ask me something as my phone as email capabilities.

In the meantime, please hang on while I wait on some electricity at home…no electricity means no DSL modem and naturally the laptop batter wouldn’t have lasted this long anyway.  My husband did hook me up to the car battery last night for a while but not long so I didn’t do much.

In the meantime, feel free to carry on and I’ll shoot you when I get back…

True Introductions

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Ok, I am your new guide.  My name is Jerri Ann and right now it is 12:45 AM on Thursday January 15th.  My son turned 6 yesterday so I am in a bit of a squalor as I’ve run myself ragged for a few days.

So, with that said, I’m going to leave a formal introduction for the about section over on the side bar plus I’ll give you something brief here as well.  Just not at 1 AM.  There’s no telling how much information you could get from me at this time of the morning when you really shouldn’t.

In the meantime, if you want to ask me questions, it will make the introduction part much easier.  So, feel free to ask anything, that doesn’t mean I’ll answer it, but I will at least try.

And, if you are wondering about my skills, you can check me out on my other blogs and see what you think.  I’ve listed them below with a brief description of each included:

Jerri Ann Reason  a magazine/newspaper site where my blogs are all collaborated so you can see where I”m writing each day and what I’m writing about, this site has only been up 3 or 4 days so it is a work in progress, bare with me please

Mom~E~Centric   my personal blog that contains endless stories of my children, my husband, my family, my pet peeve, etc – you name it, I’m good to go

TV Boyfriends  this one is exactly as it sounds, it is about men who you see on TV who would make a good boyfriend or whose character would make a good boyfriend

Mom is Teaching  this is site is about teaching our children, homeschooling them, online homeschools, public schools, as well as other educators like parents, ministers, fireman, policeman, etc

Mental and Emotional Health  this blog is just as it seems, it is about mental and emotional stability and health

Wentworth Miller yes, he is the most beautiful man on TV right now and maybe all of Earth,  I need to write about him more

Education Uncensored  a blog dedicated to the locals in my area and our school systems (not building very quickly so ideas are welcome)

The Reason for the Madness the blog that will one day compile the stories that will make a book that I can publish

Media Critiques  Not your normal media coverage, this is my ideas of how there media went wrong…or sometimes where they went right…critiques don’t have to all be negative

Parenting Sites 411  where can you find the most comprehensive information about all the parenting sites online?  You got it, right here

Life in Reality  a blog used primarily for celebrity news and advertisements, seriously thinking of changing the name of this blog to reflect the news of someone who is new in our eyes but we will probably see all over the net

A Crack ‘n Life   this was my personal blog, I ended up password protecting that side of the blog and now it is dedicated to celebrity gossip and writing advertisements

As you can see, that’s a lot of blogging.  And, since I said I was saving the real introduction for later, I’m going to hush now, but I will tell you that I’m married to a great man and I have 2 children, one is 4, the other is 6 (as of the 14 – yesterday).

I’ll get you my other “credentials tomorrow”

A new addition for Cagey

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

New Baby GirlWhat better way to kick off the new “Parenting Sites 411″ site than to happily announce a birth?  Cagey, who writes both her fabulously funny personal blog Rancid Raves as well as the Nursing Your Kids blog here at 451Press gave birth to her baby girl late last night!  Anjali entered the world at 10:27pm, weighing 8lbs 1oz and was a fabulous 20 inches long.  According to mom, “Sure, she looks like any other squashed up newborn, but I’ll kick anyone’s butt who actually SAYS that.”  I sure do hope that priceless pictures are soon to follow as I love me some newborn (squashed or not).  Congrats to the new mama (and papa!) and if you’d like to read the announcement yourself, head on over to her personal blog and have a look-see (and pen your congrats while you’re at it!).

The 411: another Mother’s Day Contest!

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Wallhog contest at CrumleydotOrgWith Mother’s Day coming up in a week, there is a lot of talk about what to get Mom for her special day. And there are give aways and sales and specials, all because of Mothers. Isn’t it great? I just love being a mom.

Well, I have another contest to tell you about, this one is actually hosted by me! Not here, but on my family blog, where I talk about Fuller, Damon, house stuff, and whatever else. This contest is being sponsored by Wallhogs. A wallhog is a product that allows you to go big in the home decorating arena. You can upload a photo or illustration and the fun folks at Wallhogs will reproduce it on a reusable vinyl that will stick to the walls. I think it would be great for kid’s rooms, play rooms, or family rooms.

In the case of this contest, the winner will receive a 48 inch reusable vinyl wallhog. I really want one, but since I am hosting, I don’t get to win.

To enter, go to the contest entry and leave a comment about your favorite mothering moment (if you are a mom) or leave your favorite story about your own mom.

The 411: 5 Minutes for Mom Mother’s Day Giveaway

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

Mother's Day GiveawayThe folks over at 5 Minutes for Mom have put together a few special Mother’s Day Giveaways. You could win an iPod Nano (in a very special box of chocolates), a Mei Tai baby carrier, or a Total Mom Makeover book. Just head on over there, pick your contest and leave a comment in any or all your want to be entered to win.

Personally, I would love an iPod Nano and think it is even sweeter wrapped in a box of chocolates.
